What documents do I need to rent a car in the UAE?
Residents need a valid UAE driving license and Emirates ID. Tourists need a passport, valid visa, and an international driving license.

Yes, tourists with a valid international driving license and passport can rent cars in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and across the UAE.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in the UAE?
The minimum age is usually 18 years, but for luxury and sports cars may required drivers to be 23 or 25 years old.
Does Cardiwan require a credit card for rentals?
Yes, we require a credit card for the security deposit. This deposit is fully refundable after the rental period ends we will count 21 working days , once all fines or charges are cleared.
How much is the security deposit with Cardiwan?
Our deposit usually ranges from AED 1,000 to AED 5,000, depending on the car model. This amount is blocked on your card and released after 21 working days.
What is Cardiwan’s fuel policy?
We follow a same-to-same policy. If you receive the car with a full tank, you return it the same way. This ensures fairness and transparency.
What type of insurance is included when renting from Cardiwan?
We provide basic insurance (Third-Party Liability) with every rental. Customers can upgrade to Full Insurance or CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) for extra protection.
Can I drive a Cardiwan rental car across the UAE?
Yes, our cars can be driven anywhere within the UAE, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, and other emirates.
Can I drive a Cardiwan rental car outside the UAE?
No, rental cars are not permitted to leave the UAE. They can only be driven within the country.
How are traffic fines handled with Cardiwan?
Any fines recorded during your rental are automatically charged to your contract. They can be deducted from your deposit or billed separately.
Can I extend my rental with Cardiwan?
Yes, extensions are simple. Just contact our sales managers before your contract ends, and we’ll update your agreement instantly.
What happens if I return the car late?
Late returns are charged per hour. If the delay exceeds 2 hours, an additional full-day rental fee may apply.
Does Cardiwan offer unlimited mileage rentals?
Most of our rentals include 250–300 km per day. For long-term rentals, we can provide unlimited mileage packages on request.
What payment methods does Cardiwan accept?
We accept credit cards, debit cards, cash, crypto and for corporate clients, bank transfers.
Are Salik (toll charges) included in the rental price?
Our cars come with Salik tags. Toll charges (AED 5-10 per one gate) are billed separately at the end of your rental.
What if my rental car breaks down?
Cardiwan provides 24/7 roadside assistance.
Can someone else drive my rental car?
Yes, but only if their name is added to your rental agreement as an additional driver. Extra fees may apply.
Is parking included with Cardiwan rentals?
Parking fees are not included. Customers are responsible for paying parking charges via RTA SMS, parking meters, or mobile apps.
Do your rental prices include VAT?
As per UAE law, a 5% VAT is applied to all rental prices.
